News:: Texas is the Reason - One last show!

File this under holy shit. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the fantastic album, Do You Know Who You Are?, Texas is the Reason is playing a final show. For those of you unfamiliar with the band, they are kind of the who's who of the emo/indie movement.

Formed in the NYC in the 90's, TitR (which i just made up) released some solid EPs, a fantastic debut album riddled with JFK conspiracy references and punk rock melodies, then split before releasing their major label debut. The band members split and formed crucial parts of some of the most popular indie rock outfits of the late 90's/early 2000's and influenced countless bands. Drummer Chris Daly went on to drum for Jets to Brazil. Guitarist Norm Arenas and bassist Scott Wineguard joined Jonah Matranga in New End Original.

herohill favorite Ian Love is the opening act for the show. Basically that means that all of my favorite indie bands are (at least in some six degrees of Kevin Bacon style) involved in this show.

If you live in NYC, you are a fool if you miss this::

@ 1:17 AM, Turkey Turkey kicked the following game:

I find it odd that they don't play in Texas near Turkey Day to celebrate and commemorate the occasion. But Texas is the Reason either way.
