Sunday Morning Coffee:: Steve Dawson

Black Hen artist Steve Dawson is posed for a big, big year. Well, big in relative terms I guess. He's going to release two records, and the first - Waiting for the Lights to Come Up - is great combination of old an new.

Steve's excellent finger work is still the star of the show, but he spent time working with an top shelf band and the results really keep the energy high on this record. I'll be reviewing the record closer to the release date, so I don't want to go into too much details here. Let's just say Chris Gestrin (Randy Bachman, K-OS) on keyboards is all good.

MP3:: Somebody's Got to Help You
This song is great. The guitar line is crisp and the stomp percussion really gets you moving. Dawson sings with a lot of soul and when the keys come in, well it is bliss.

PS - That's right, he played with K-OS AND Randy Bachman. That is about as awesome as it gets.
