Old School Mondays:: KRS-One Was In Halifax! Edition

After seeing KRS live and in person this weekend, if you didn't think you'd be seeing more KRS on Old School Mondays, well you're just not paying attention. Any, it was an enjoyable weekend, but a long one, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet.

One of the best moments of the show occurred after he invited some b-boys & b-girls onstage to get their break on. After they did their thing for a bit, KRS launched into another song (Outta Here), and security came onstage to try and clear it. KRS was having none of that, stopped the music, and kicked all the security off the stage, allowing the b-boys to stay up there. Then he kicked off again with Sound Of The Police, and the crowd got very, very hyped. Easily the loudest I've ever heard a gathering of people go "WHOOP, WHOOP".

This was just a perfect example of how in his element KRS was, amongst his people, and having the stage being kind of a zoo didn't phase him. So Here's Outta Here & Sound Of The Police, both from KRS' solo 1993 debut Return Of The Boom Bap. We've talked about the pure awesomeness of KRS' live/freestyle version of Still #1 from BDP's Live Hardcore Worldwide album, so of course I was looking forward to hearing it live. He only did the first verse, but it was awesome enough to post, so enjoy that as well.
