News:: Hey Ocean! keep the Halifax summer going

It's perfect timing for Vancouver's Hey Ocean! to roll into town. The youngen's are filing in to the city for the start of another school year and September is usually the nicest month we have here in Halifax.

We've had nothing but rain for the last few weeks and after a few beautiful days, everyone wants the sun to stay. And I have to say, if anyone can keep the summer here it's the four young musicians from the Left Coast. Mixing reggae percussion and horns, infectious hooks and alternating boy/girl vocals, their record - It's Easier to Be Somebody Else - is a nice listen filled with tracks destined to be played at parties and in cars.

They are touring Canada with Polaris nominee Shad, although Shad passed on the two dates here in Halifax so we will miss his collabo on Vagabonds but hey, what can you do. Regardless, for all you students settling into your new apartment looking for an excuse to drink, smoke and dance around - may we suggest one or both of these shows:

Halifax tour dates::

11 Sep 2008 -Mt. St. Vincent University
12 Sep 2008 - The Seahorse
