Great news:: New Brett Dennen

It's not too often my musical world collides with the songs preferred my wife. Brett Dennen is one of the few common musicians we share - and is usually the common ground on road trips. So, hearing that he has a new record - Hope for the Hopeless - due out is certainly something worth mentioning.

Long story short, Dennen was making home-schooled, Paul Simon/African influenced socially conscious pop music when the boys from Vampire Weekend were still wearing preppy clothes (or something witty that makes sense). His songs seem effortless, timeless, and I could listen to him sing for hours.

The first single - Make You Crazy - features Femi Kuti and sounds great.
