News:: It's Nova Scotia Music Week!

BOX
In typical herohillian style, I've put off posting on Nova Scotia Music Week until today, which also happens to be the day the festivities begin. But I'm afraid that how we operate around here, it's all seat of the pants, knife-edge action when you climb the hill my friends, so you have to learn to deal with it. Or something like that. Anyway, NS Music Week is chalk full of events, so if you're anywhere within travelling distance of New Glasgow (wait, there's a "New" Glasgow? Word to Mr. Burns, and also, yes there is) you might want to take in some of the festivities.

As you might imagine, there are plenty of great shows taking place during the event, a few we might recommend:

Friday, November 7th:

Glasgow Square Theatre - 8:00 – 8:30 i see rowboats, 8:40 – 9:10 Alright Already (formerly Great Plains), 9:20 – 9:50 MIR, 10:00 – 10:30 Steven Bowers

Fibbers - 9:30 – 10:00 Rich Aucoin, 10:15 – 10:45 Share, 11:00 – 11:30 The Superfantastics, 11:45 – 12:15 Jon McKiel

The Dock - 9:30 – 10:00 Ghost Bees, 10:15 – 10:45 Don Brownrigg, 11:00 – 11:30 Tanya Davis, 11:45 – 12:15 Mary-Grace Koile

Saturday, November 8th:

deCoste Centre - 8:00 Songwriters Circle Featuring Dave Carroll; Christina Martin; Andrew White; Ruth Minnikin; Ian Sherwood; Ronald Bourgeois; Hosted by J.P. Cormier

Glasgow Square Theatre - 8:00 – 8:30 Myles Deck and the Fuzz, 8:45 – 9:15 Shelter With Thieves, 9:30 – 10:00The Sleepless Nights, 10:15 – 10:45 Alert the Medic

The Roseland - 10:30 – 11:00 Mike Trask and Mudhill, 11:15 – 11:45 Carmen Townsend, 12:00 – 12:30 The Stanfields, 12:45 – 1:15 The Tom Fun Orchestra

Sunday, November 9th

John Brother MacDonald Stadium - 8:00 Gala Awards Show: Featuring Dave Gunning; Old Man Luedecke; David Myles; Gypsophilia; Jamie Sparks; Laura Peek and The Winning Hearts; Christina Martin; Rebekah Higgs; Hosted by George Canyon

George Canyon! Seriously, why would you miss that. Anyway, we're sorry the hill won't be able to make an appearance at Music Week, but we hope everyone there has a great time. if I'd gotten this up in time, you would have been able to cast a vote for Entertainer of the Year from this fine selection of folks:

Rich Aucoin
Dave Gunning
David Myles
Old Man Luedecke
Tom Fun Orchestra

As it stands now, you can enjoy the Tom Fun Orchestra's slanderously fun selection of campaign ads, watch Ryan Cook's rather humorous pitch for new artist votes below, or just sample some songs. Not such a bad alternative really.
