Video Hits:: Shad, Shotgun Jimmie & The Great Lake Swimmers

What better place to start than with some Canadian hip hop. I've talked about Shad a few times on the hill in advance of his Halifax shows, and of course he was numero dos on my Top 5 Canadian MC's list from last year, so it's safe to say I'm a large fan of The Old Prince. He was on aux.tv recently, filming a version of the live performance series, the alt.sessions, from Sonic Boom records in Toronto. Seeing Shad kick his laid back, humorous ("I'm like the Raptors, I got weak first drafts...you can call me Araujo" hahaha, suck it Hoffa!) lines in the the middle of a record store is pretty excellent. You can check the full episode here, but you can also check out the two songs below. Good stuff.
As if that wasn't enough, we've got a couple videos from two hill faves. The first was brought to my attention thanks to the miracle of the Twitter: a new video for Mind Crumb by Sackville, NB's king of quirky indie rock, Shotgun Jimmie. If you're familiar with Jimmers, then this video is exactly what you'd expect from him. If you aren't familiar, well get familiar, and then watch the video.
Last but not least, I thought I'd post the video for the Great Lake Swimmers single Pulling On A Line. GLS certainly don't need to exposure from us, as Lost Channels seems to be doing great business for them, but I love the song, and they did a great version of it when they played Halifax, so I thought I'd include it. Enjoy!
