Friday Showstravaganza:: Timber Timbre, Myles Deck, Hot Kid & The Lodge

So what's on deck for this Victoria Day long weekend? Well tonight you'll find Gus' chock-a-block with raucous rock & roll as locals Myles Deck, the Cuban Assassins, and The Gideons will be joined by Ontarians Hot Kid (this Cambridge two-piece has a song on their new record named after our town, on that basis alone, never mind the riff-filled goodness of said album, you should get out and support them) and Andrew Devillers.
You can also catch Mary Stewart doing a solo show at the newly opened Minstrels on Spring Garden. Saturday's big show is of course k-os' Karma show at the Cunard Centre (he'll be joined by dance rock outfit Lioness who are handling opening duties), but you should be able to find us at the Company House enjoying Timber Timbre and The Weather Station. If you're looking to take advantage of the extra weekend evening, you can head across the harbour Sunday night to check out The Lodge and three other solid Dartmouth outfits.
MP3:: HotKid - Halifax
MP3:: The Weather Station - East
MP3:: The Lodge - Forget the Silence

The Weather Station will floor you. Saw them in a backyard shed last weekend. Brilliant. I can't get over their new (second) percussionist. Enjoy!
