Friday Showstravaganza:: Ruby Jean, Jazz & Sir Paul

If you're like me, once the workday is done on Friday, then you have only one thing on your mind: dancing. Well if that's the case, then the Paragon Theatre is your only destination tonight, as Rebekah Higgs and her cohorts in Ruby Jean and the Thoughtful Bees will have the kids dancing their pants off. And when you consider how tight the kids wear their pants these days, that is impressive. However, if you're like the Ack and enjoy a more sedate Friday evening, then The Company House for Rose Cousins and her Boston posse is a must. Rose is great live, obviously a great singer, but incredibly funny & engaging as well, so the CoHo is a perfect venue for her.
Now, those shows should be solid, but the rest of the weekend should be crazy as well, with the Atlantic Jazz Festival starting today, and of course, the show of the year for many here in Halifax: Sir Paul live on the Common. Having seen the transformation of the Common on the bus ride in this AM, it should be quite and event, and if Petra and I hadn't seen Paul a few years ago in TO, we'd likely be there tomorrow. But for those going, show up early to support Wintersleep and friend of the hill Mr. Joel Plaskett and enjoy the show.
