Labor Days:: Meursault

Over the next few days, I'll be in the hospital with my wife waiting for the arrival of our first child. Obviously, I'd have to be a deadbeat dad/husband to blog my way through the delivery, so I cobbled up some terrific acts for you to go hunt down on your own.

The first, Meursault, is set to release their new EP - Nothing Broke - on Song, by Toad Records. It's acoustic, recorded live and the echoing vocals blanket the banjo, uke and guitar melodies with a ghost like chill. Somehow, the songs sound like they could be played unplugged in a church or tiny club with fans hunkered around straining to hear, but aren't out of place played as loud as the stereo can go either. These five songs will stick with like a vivid memory.

Good luck with everything. Remember to take it all in. Love at first sight is an amazing thing.
