Five Funky Stories:: Matt from Bruce Peninsula
As mentioned yesterday, we're using our magical random question generator-led section, Five Funky Stories, to get some pre-HPX hype rolling here on the hill. Today we continue tour with the indie chamber pop of Bruce Peninsula.
Based on the blog reactions you can find to Bruce Peninsula (on this here site as well as many others), I have to think the level of anticipation for their HPX show is rather high. Matt Cully from the band was kind enough to answer our random questions, so get yourself primed for BP's October 21st show at the Seahorse by checking out his answers below:

1. What is your favorite venue to play (excluding those in your city of residence)
Anything outside the bar/club scene is exciting and appreciated by us. Festival stages. Back Porches. Churches. Near the water.
2. Name a Canadian band (past or present) that should be bigger outside this country.
Chad VanGaalen, Timber Timbre, Castlemusic to name a few off the top of my head. Constantines should be as big as Oasis.
3. What's the longest time period you've gone without showering on the road?
A few days.
4. Why do people still say 'We're doing an East Coast tour!' when they're only going as far as Quebec?
Canada is so vast that even playing shows in parts of Ontario feels like a full blown tour. Plus East Coast tour sounds super charged - like you're off to conquer new land.
5. Can you please tell us what the hell happened to R. Kelly?
I'm not the expert by any means...but "Ignition (remix)" still gets me grinding despite my mild-mannered out appearance.
