Circle Research - Gardiner Express

As you likely know if you visit this site with any kind of regularity, the Ack has headed up to Toronto for to partake in the festivities in and around this year’s NXNE music festival. There’s the herohill/killbeat showcase to be seen to, and he’s actually playing in the “Put The Boot In” celeb vs. media charity soccer game, amongst all types of other music nonsense - so he’s going to be rather busy. But don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll be regaling you with tales of his NXNE adventures over the next few days. Which is good, as I’ll be incommunicado on a little family vacation.

That said, I thought I’d leave you with a little something Toronto-related to get you in the NXNE frame of mind. T.O. production duo Circle Research and their new album Gardiner Express fits the bill rather nicely I’d say. I posted on Nik & Gil a few months ago, but their album is out now on Urbnet, and they’re offering up a few songs for free, so I figured they need a posting. It’s good stuff, electronic music with a real strong hip hop base - give it a listen, I think you’ll like what you hear.

You can hear Circle Research live and in person on Saturday at The Piston if you’re at NXNE, and if you’re anywhere near the Dakota Tavern on Friday night, stop in and say hello to the Ack.
