If I may quote from the great Schooly D: “lookin’ at my Gucci, it’s about that time”. We’re into September now, the full HPX 2010 lineup has been announced, and in fact the schedule came out yesterday, so I know you’re waiting for it. I can hear you asking for it from whatever end of the interweb you happen to be on: “Shane, where is your annual HPX preview post with all the acts listed in a huge block of text?!?!” Well never fear my friend, behold:

I don’t have to tell you there’s a lot going on there, but I’ll save you from having to search the schedule for the first can’t miss show to add to your event calendar: the herohill showcase is Saturday, Oct. 23rd at the Company House. We decided there was no point in trying to trump the rock & roll goodness of the last two years, so we went with something more low key, yet just as awesome. It Kills, The Mountains & The Trees, Boats, and the Grand Wizard Ghettosocks are going to be a quartet of excellence, mark my words.
Obviously there are a number of big acts from both Canada and the US of A coming to Halifax for this year’s festival, but one of the great things about HPX is the fact that it gives some many of the excellent local bands here some exposure to media and other music folks from elsewhere that might not normally get to see them. One such band is The First Aid Kit, who have been a hill favorite for a while, and have been kind enough to share their new single with us. You can see TFAK on Thursday, Oct. 21st at Tribeca during HPX, so make another note on your must see list.
