Contest:: Win 2tix to Jim Bryson @ The Company House

Jim Bryson‘s new record - The Falcon Lake Incident - is top shelf. You can’t give Jim enough credit for pushing his comfort level and abandoning his solo recording style for a more collaborative affair. Taking the familiar sounds of one of Canada’s best bands (The Weakerthans) and letting them supplement and enhance - but never overshadow - the grass roots, stellar song writing Jim offers up makes his latest record one of the best records released by any Canadian artist.

The band pushed Jim and drew out every ounce of inspiration from Jim’s unique perspective of the world around him, but also let him explore bigger and more addictive hooks. Ironically, Jim is starting his tour out East and without a band. Instead of rocking out, on Nov. 16th he will take the stage at The Company House, tell stories and give us all a glimpse of the skeleton structure of the songs he fleshed out for the new record. Having seen Jim perform before and knowing he is rocking a huge stache right now, I can wholeheartedly say this is going to be a great night of music and throw in the fact the always charming Dan Ledwell will be joining him on stage, and it’s as you say, a party.

Thanks to Jim, we have (2) sets of tickets so you and a friend can see the show for free. All you have to do is email us your info (herohill AT gmail DOT COM) or leave the info in the comments section below. We will pick the winners Monday and email the winners accordingly. Good luck!
