What’s This, A Party?:: Caribou & Kidstreet

You know who kind of sucks? Tuesday, that’s who. I mean, he talks all tough with his “at least I’m not Monday, so get off me!” type talk, but really, he’s still like 3 full days from the weekend. Really, he’s nothing but a glorified Monday. Well Tuesday, your rain of mundane is over, thanks to this special Tuesday edition of What’s This, A Party?

We usually try and post any fun remixes we come across on Saturday mornings, but family busy-ness prevented that from happening this past weekend, and so Saturday’s loss is boring-ass Tuesday’s gain. We have a great remix of Caribou’s Sun from peppy sibling trio Kidstreet. Their version is a little more dense, a little more percussion-heavy and a little less disco-fied. Edna Snyder’s vocals replace the floaty male vocals from the original, and I think it’s safe to say I actually prefer the remix to the original in this case. Not surprising really, Kidstreet seem to have a knack for taking on other people’s songs, as they did a good job with one of Valery Gore’s tunes a while ago.

[...] know, I know, I’m likely JFK-ing your mind with this one, first a Tuesday edition of our remix-featuring WTAP post series last week, and now I come with it on a Wednesday? Hell yes [...]
