This will be it for me for a few days… so what better way to wish you all a Merry Festiakuh than with a band with a name that channels New Year tidings. Rochester’s (although, they are 1/5th Canadian) Auld Lang Syne offers up a heartfelt Christmas performance (and a well shot video courtesy of the good people @ Kitchen Sessions) that finds the band expanding on their country roots and drifting more into a surprisingly well done, Rufus Wainwright inspired piano performance that grows with strings, accordion and a community of horns.
It’s full of nostalgia, booze, love, friends, but still hints at the loneliness invoked when you are stuck in a room with extended family. Basically, it’s the perfect way to wish you and yours a happy holiday. The first rum & nog is on us (NOTE: offer not valid unless you live in one of the two herohill homes).
