This year we wanted to do something special for the readers. Instead of asking for remixes, new songs or interviews full of badly phrased questions we thought to ourselves, “Selves, what’s one thing we love?” Obviously, something involving the Steelers or Bayern Munich wasn’t really an option, but our unashamed love of Hall & Oates was one we thought we could leverage. End result, we asked bands to record Hall & Oates covers, hoping anyone would say yes. In the end, we did ok… we got about 11 songs in time for today’s launch, but we also have about 5 or 6 more in the hopper for a mid-January redux edition of the herohall & oates project.
So a sincere thanks to the bands involved and of course, thanks to all the readers. You’ve helped our traffic grow and helped us get to be apart of things like NXNE, HPX and Polaris. And now… the tracklist. Have a great holiday!

This is a thing of inspired, demented greatness. Thank you immeasurably.
Great Site. I especially really loved the bluesy “she’s Gone” from Ox. this reminded me of a long ago Concert at Wonderland, Ontario, where Hall and Oates gave us an awesome experience, in music and lights!

[...] All said, the tribute is a treat. One can never have too many opportunities to appreciate Hall and Oates, and it’s not often that we find ourselves specifically exposed to Canadian artists. It’s not the nationality that distinguishes these musicians, though; as with all other music worth listening to, it’s the talent. The eclectic nature of the recordings and arrangements layered on top of the skillful songwriting inherent to Hall and Oates tunes makes for a delightful and, at times, surprising listen. Enjoy the sample tracks below and check out the full album here. [...]
