What’s This, A Party?:: Rebekah Higgs & DJ T-Woo

I don’t want to get my hopes up, but some warmer weather this week has gotten me thinking that winter might be starting to run it’s course. I think we’d all welcome seeing winter’s backside at this point, so what better to help it along then a return of our remix-filled Saturday posting series What’s This, A Party?

Obviously Halifax songstress Rebekah Higgs has warmer weather on her mind as well, as she’s just released a free remix edition of her recent EP Little Voice. Offered gratis from her Bandcamp site to “get you through the last leg of winter”, Higgs, who, through her Ruby Jean persona is no stranger to dance floor ditties, managed to get 3 of the EP’s tracks remixed by the likes of A.A. Wallace, Mike Din, and Marc Francis (a.k.a. Taperecorder). It’s catchy stuff, so go ahead and grab it.

But that’s not all we have for you today, busy Halifax club DJ T-Woo (Trevor Wood) got in touch with us to offer our readers a free download of a promo mix he created for one of his residencies at local Club Tribeca (the night ia dubbed Bleu Nuit, which is an awesome name if you grew up peeping the french channels late on a Saturday night, and it just so happens to be going down tonight). T-Woo’s mix is close to 30 songs of “House/Disco/electro/rap”, and it should keep your Saturday night pumping no matter where you are. Plus it gives me the chance to post that Duck Sauce video, which I find enjoyable. Download T-Woo’s mix here, and check the tracklist below. Enjoy
