You can go ahead and call me the Sam Sniderman of video posts, because I said I was going to bring you two Video Hits posts this week, and now I’ve done it. A day later than planned, mind you, but still, the deed is done.
So, considering this is the second such post of the day, I’m going to keep the banter light, and let the vids to the talking, or err, the singing. And the guitar playing. And the drumming…well perhaps just a quick word about each. I’m glad former Bicycle Drew Smith has done a video for a song (Let’s Make It Legitimate) off of his solo record as Doctor Ew (Gadzooks) because I’d meant to post on the record years ago, and also, the black & white video is chock full of cartoony villains having a battle royale, so it’s a win-win. Baby Eagle (aka Steve Lambke) also has a new black & white video for Last Song of The Night, from last year’s Dog Weather (which the hill was rather high on), and the stop motion clip, that features many of his friends, is quite lovely.
Winnipeg’s Royal Canoe offers a change of pace with a live studio performance of Nightcrawlin’, which is slightly nutty, but very awesome at the same time. To finish up we’ll go with The Sadies Another Day Again as a belated get-well shout out to Dallas Good, who broke his leg last month, which has resulted in their East Coast dates being pushed back to June (17th in Halifax at the Seahorse, by the way). Their video for Another Day Again is also kind of nutty, with visuals courtesy of old school Canadian kids show The Hilarious House of Frightenstein. Enjoy the vids.
