No, it is not Saturday, which is the day that these remix-related What’s This, A Party? posts get posted. But I’m putting this one up on a Sunday for a couple reasons. It’s going up today mainly because I meant to put it up yesterday, but we spent Friday night being properly wowed by the full-band sounds of Mr. Dan Mangan at the Seahorse, and so I had no time to prepare it. Also, tomorrow is a holiday for a number of folks, and so I’m sure those folks might appreciate some par-tay jams for this evening.
So what do we have for you today? Well we’ve got a little something from Skratch Bastid called the International Whisperer’s Anthem (Skratch Bastid’s Sexy Mix). If you were hoping this is a Sergio Flores-inspired mash-up that mixes George Michael with UKG and Outkast love raps you are A. kind of weird and B. in a whole lot of luck. Anyhoo, the whole thing is rather slick, so it’s perfect for that Easter Sunday after-party you’re planning to DJ.
Well what could possibly follow that you ask? Not much really. But we’ve got a couple of other remixes that we can try. We’ve got a remix of Wale’s Pretty Girls from Cadence Weapon, which is quite a catchy number, and we’ve got a remix of White Wolves from herohill faves Bravestation done by Vancouver’s Teen Daze (there’s another remix available from Australia’s Youth on Bravestation’s Bandcamp site). I think those follow up on the sexy sax fairly well, so enjoy the remixes.
