New music from the Godfather of Canadian hip hop (Question: does Wes have that phrase TM’d yet? He should), well that’s Friday at it’s funnest for sure. Granted I thought of saving these songs for the next edition of the Rap-Sack Backpack, which is named for and inspired by Maestro himself, but I couldn’t wait. It seems Fresh Wes has a new album on the horizon called ORCHESTR8ED NO1ZE, which certainly passes the hip hop spelling test, but he’s just leaked a couple tracks via Hip Hop Canada.
If these first couple tracks are any indication, Mr. Maes is going to be featuring a lot of collaborations on the new record, with every CDN music enthusiast’s current favorite rapper, Shad, joining him on the first track, Praise The Lord. As always, Shad does great work, and like J-Kidd, Maestro brings his skill & veteran savy to any track he’s on. The second track features TO’s Adam Bomb, who I don’t know much about, but it’s catchy in it’s own right, and I’m happy to hear plenty of DJ cuts on both tracks (by DJ Dopey & Lil Jaz respectively).
So there you go, it’s Friday, and you can hear some new Maestro music – that’s a win-win.
