What’s up Canada, you know how you are always going on about “how come no great all-Canadian hip hop shows ever roll through my town?” Well you can finally quit your bellyaching (well, about that at least…zing, I got you Canada, you know you love to bellyache), because there is an excellent hip hop tour kicking off today in Halifax that will quite literally be rolling through your town.
The Train of Thought tour features four amazing MC’s that rep Canada from coast to coast. Halifax’s Ghettosocks, Toronto’s Muneshine and Timbuktu, along with Vancouver’s Jeff Spec are starting in Halifax tonight, with a performance at the Seahorse, and will make their way across the country by train during the next month with performances all the way. All four of these dudes have been covered on the hill multiple times and they all make the kind of high-quality, golden age-inspired hip hop that we should all be able to get behind.
So get out and see them! Ghettosocks and Muneshine are also known collectively as Twin Peaks, and they just released their new album today, so I’m sure they’ll have copies of it amongst the other swag they’ll have on offer, but they will likely go fast. There’s 19 dates on the tour, so find the one near you and get to buy a record and see a great show.
