It’s hard to define Klarka Weinwurm as a musician. She’s one of the staples of the East Coast scene, routinely supporting Jon Mckiel and Shotgun Jimmie, but you’d be forgiven if you hadn’t heard her songs. The soft spoken Weinwurm doesn’t have a Web site and unless you cornered her in a dark alley, I’m not sure you could even buy her latest EP.

Thankfully, that will all change soon. Klarka is set to release her debut LP, Continental Drift on Saved By Vinyl this Spring and the songs show a huge, but natural evolution. After spending countless nights supporting Jon and Jimmie, her songs are less fragile. Her voice still sounds beautiful, but any hint of preciousness or vulnerability is removed thanks to the steady bounce of guitars and keep time percussion.
