There’s something fitting about posting this new track from Derek Christoff (you may know his as D-Sisive) after the release of the Polaris Short List and this ffwd article about Canadian music being boring that had all the kids in a tizzy.

You can check the track for yourself, but basically it’s Derek working off some steam over being one of the best MC’s in Canada but not getting the props such a position should bring. As he says of his home and native land: “they love rock hard and love rap safe”. Very true. Nobody wants to be a hater, but it’s a little dispiriting to see a guy like Derek, whose mic skills slay most of his peers, still fighting for attention while Drake dominates Much Music and the Polaris prize. So raise a glass for the Asian Elvis’s of the world as you bang this one nice and loud.
