When you revisit the skittish pop and sensuality of Pat Jordache and his last release, fluid and loose aren’t words that often come to mind. Despite the endless number of layers, the clusterfuck of lost files and the painstaking restoration process of getting Future Songs to it’s final state, the vision always seemed laser focused.
If Future Songs was laser focused, “Hunger”, the new song from Jordache, is more laser lighted. A planetarium worthy effort, the fat, warbled bass balloons into any available space left from the trailers that exploded across the fractured melody.
Jordache somehow bridges the gap between the audio visual club and Beck at his swaggiest and manages to keep opposing viewpoints in step and in tune. Things just got beautifully confused.
