In the immortal words of the legendary Belinda Carlisle, Heaven is a Place On Earth. When the sun is burning bright here in Halifax, I believe her. I say that because I imagine that Heaven, were it to be an actual thing, is very nice, and downtown Halifax, in the sunshine, is extremely nice. Hey, since it’s an absolute scorcher of a day, and we just happen to be casually chatting about tangible Heaven type scenarios, I have the perfect EP for you: Heaven For Real’s WANTON.
Heaven For Real is a three-piece, brothers Mark and Scott Grundy along with drummer Nathan Doucet, offshoot and/or alternate of Halifax outfit Quaker Parents who play “Baby jazz, secret pop”. I have no idea what that means, but if you like adventurous pop songs with sunny vocals layered over twangy, stop/start melodies, then Heaven For Real will be your Nirvana.
