I’m fairly certain I will hear nothing today that I enjoy more than this KON remix of Maylee Todd’s new song Hieroglyphics. Fantastic funk. You can get the original for gratis from Maylee & Do Right music, so go do that.

I don’t know about you, but I need a quality song to finish today off in style. This true school gem is an ode to their craft from T.O.’s Notes To Self and features Evidence. It’s also excellent. And you have to love that NOS have their cover art game on lock, great stuff just keeps on comin’ from their camp.

On the anniversary of Roy Orbison’s death, it’s fitting that I immediately thought Khingfisher’s reinterpretation of “Scottish Choro” would fit perfectly alongside “Bayou Blue” on a fictional mixtape.
Craig has many of the same qualities as the great song writer (although this tale of prohibition sounds more like sharing a bottle of wine on the patio of a cafe than needing to return to N’Awlins to reunite with a lover) and his use of melody and delivery hit me with the same type of impact. Great stuff.

Do we all treasure the great Mike O’Neil? I think we should. Therefore, let’s all buy his new album Wild Lines when it comes out next year, ok? The first single, This Is Who I Am, is awesome and might well convince you to buy his album regardless of my blathering.

The hard-working lads in Hollerado are finally coming to Halifax this Friday night when they’ll be playing the Seahorse. Looks like there are still a few tickets left, so check them racing ostriches above, in their new video for Good Day at The Races, for the kind of action I’m assuming you’ll see at their show.
