My Friend K-OS

Toronto's own K-OS released his new album, Joyful Rebellion, last week, and I encourage anyone who like the hip hop and or rock and roll music to go buy it. I'm doing a review on the album, so I'll go into more detail about it there, but it's an excellent album.

Having said that, I should mention that I'm not exactly unbiased as K-OS is a friend of mine. Last summer Ack and I were looking for CD's at Rotate This last summer, when someone came up behind me, called me Seth and said something about heading back down Queen St. I assumed it was Acker and turned around intending to ask him what in the hell he was talking about, only to see K-OS standing there. Obviously startled that there was another muthaf*cka in the store cool enough to be his friend Seth, K-OS said "Oh, sorry, I thought you were my friend" before turning to walk away. However, before even taking a step he turned back to me and said "Hey, you are my friend, just not the one I was looking for".

So there you have it, K-OS considers me to be a friend of his and I feel the same way. It's good to know K-OS walks the positive talk that he puts into his records. It would've also been good if he could've hooked his friend up with a promo copy of his new CD, but I'll digress. I guess we really didn't have a chance to exchange info in our 10 second interaction. So I went out and bought his album and I think you should all do the same to support Canadian hip hop.
