News:: Langhorne Slim on Daytrotter

Daytrotter just keeps on delivering the goods, like Natalie Woods. The Casiotone session and Bonnie “Prince” Billy sessions were great, and now Langhorne Slim graces them with his presence.

Aside from having a cool moniker and a bowler hat/suit style, Langhorne Slim channels the folk and blues from years gone by (which is amazing when you consider he’s only lived a few himself). He creates characters laced with honesty, anger and emotion and mixes foot stomping blues, bluegrass and gentle strummed folk melodies delivered with the energy of a southern preacher. I’ve been listening to the DT session on repeat, but his other work is equally fantastic.

Jump over to Daytrotter to download the 4-song set, especially the unreleased Dylan-y English Tea.

Here are some other songs by the man:
MP3:: Restless
MP3:: In the Midnight
MP3:: She Don’t Want
