Matt Dillon's Soul Patch:: The Darcys House Built Around Your Voice

Matt Dillon's soul patch was hands-down the best part about the movie Singles, so it makes sense we bestow some praise for a new section we are launching based on singles. We try to focus on records, but sometimes (ok, most times) you probably care more about the song than our jibber jabber. We do nothing if not cater to you loyal reader.

You might remember a few weeks ago I mentioned the new track from The Darcys was kicking my ass. It's from the upcoming album, Young Believers, and if House Built Around Your Voice is any indication, it's going to be a gem. Obviously the band is influenced by older Radiohead but for me it's the way the song sounds large, but never tries to sound important or overplay its significance that keeps it repeating over and over again. The band has a quiet confidence that is displayed as they refuse to find the easy hook or break into a surging mass. The Darcys would rather lure you in with restraint and talent.
