Weekend madness:: Japandroids free single

In a weird twist of fate, both sides of the Canadian music blogging world are offering up both sides of a digital single from Vancouver’s Japandroids and Best Coast. Alex over at Chipped Hip - a Vancouver based blog you should all be reading - fell for Best Coast’s half of the single, but since I’m as Canadian as back bacon, I was more interested in the Japandroids cover of To Hell with Good Intentions.

The vocals on this take are a bit different than the spirited work on Post-Nothing and I’m not sure I’d want a whole record of the spiky falsetto bursts but they really let the band add their personality to the McKlusky classic. Bottom line; this track smokes and the East Van duo continues to channel Midas and turn anything they touch to gold.

You can grab both for free - and a 20% off coupon from Saucony - so really, why wouldn’t you? Jazz and Bullets are two of my all-time favorite casual shoes and saving a chunk on either is more than enough reason to grab free tunes.
