Heeeeeeey ‘Merica, this post is for you! Foremost friend of the hill Joel Plaskett is coming your way next month with a host of shows in your eastern quadrant, and you should go see him.

Without hesitation we’ll happily admit to being biased as shit when it comes to our fellow Halifax West alumnus Mr. Plaskett, but it isn’t without merit. Joel’s a great guy, a very talented musician and easily one of the most professional, committed and enthusiastic live performers I’ve ever seen. If you’re not familiar with Joel’s work, I’d suggest starting with his last record, Scrappy Happiness, which is still getting better each time I hear it, and work your way back - it’ll be worth the trip.

Check the riff-tastic Lightning Bolt from Scrappy Happiness below and check the tour stops below that. The first 6 dates see Joel supporting Rusted Root so even if you’re like me and don’t know who that is (they’re from Pitt, so the Ack loves them!), Joel and The Emergency his talented compadre Pete Elkas (the two are doing these dates as an acoustic duo) would make it worth your while.
